Orsi, as a cultural and industrial element, influences me for my installation. Basically, Orsi is a stained glass sash window which is ornamented with geometrical patterns. Historically, Orsi became more common in the Safavid period (1501 – 1736), and since that time becomes an element of Iranian traditional architecture. Practically, Orsi helps to control natural light and temperature and insulate heat; however, my focus in this installation is to project the visual aspect of the Orsi and the shade it creates.
